I joined ad agency Tribal DDB in 2012 to write on the McDonald’s Canada Our Food, Your Questions campaign, which evolved into a social strategy and community management role for the brand. I’ve also written digital content for a long list of Tribal clients including General Mills, State Farm Insurance, Ontario Natural Gas Alliance, Canadian Tire Financial, and CIL Paints.
As a journalist, I’ve contributed to Vanity Fair, A.V. Club, NOW Magazine and the Toronto Star, and for five years covered comedy for Uptown Magazine (Winnipeg’s alt-weekly). From 2008–2015, I ran the comedy news site Third Beat Magazine, and my first book, Bears & Balls: The Colbert Report A-Z, details nine years of the acclaimed satire program.
On the comedy side, I wrote Daily Show-style content for the adult program Naked News; created the stage show Fake News Fangirl; and wrote/produced/edited the comedy short The Producers 2: The Campaigners. My smartypants tweets have received nods from CBC, the Toronto Sun, Bustle, and @Midnight’s Top 10.
My numerous media appearances include CBC Radio’s LOL and DNTO, NPR’s Radio Times, and Global Morning Winnipeg.
I’m a journalism school grad; trained in comedy writing in New York, Toronto, and Chicago; and recently completed Second City Toronto’s Longform Conservatory program.
